Semiconductor Facility MAU Project Overview

A leading semiconductor manufacturer in Singapore required a sophisticated air management solution to maintain the exacting environmental conditions necessary for semiconductor production. In high-tech manufacturing environments, precise control of air quality, pressure, and flow is critical to preventing contamination and ensuring production yield. The primary challenge was to install high-capacity Makeup Air Units (MAUs) that could effectively compensate for the substantial air volume exhausted by the facility’s manufacturing processes while maintaining strict environmental parameters.

Newark Engineering collaborated closely with contractors to implement a solution featuring two Robatherm Makeup Air Handling Units, each with an impressive airflow capacity exceeding 100,000 CMH (cubic meters per hour). These substantial units were designed to replace exhausted air while precisely controlling temperature, humidity, and pressure within the facility.

As part of our commitment to quality assurance, one unit underwent comprehensive Factory Functional Testing at Robatherm’s Thailand facility before installation. This rigorous testing process verified performance specifications and ensured the unit would meet the client’s exacting standards upon deployment.

The installed MAUs provide multiple critical functions for the facility’s operations: they compensate for exhaust air to prevent negative pressure, maintain precise pressure differentials between production zones, precondition outside air to exact temperature and humidity specifications, and ensure consistent air quality throughout the facility.

Through Newark Engineering’s expertise in timely installation and quality control, the client now benefits from a robust air management system that supports their semiconductor manufacturing processes with reliable environmental stability and contamination prevention.
